Marianne Bateman is a mother of young adults and the author of Foolproof Guide to Financial Literacy for Young Adults.

She is deeply committed to improving the futures of the next generation through practical financial knowledge and real-world money management skills.

After spending six years working in Constituent Services within local government, Marianne saw firsthand the challenges facing individuals and families experiencing food, employment, and housing insecurity. What became increasingly clear was that many of these hardships were rooted not in a lack of effort, but in a lack of financial education. Too often, people had never been taught how to manage money, build stability, or plan.

Motivated by this insight, Marianne founded Saving Benjamins LLC in 2024 as a financial literacy education platform dedicated to making money concepts accessible, relevant, and actionable. In June 2025, she published Foolproof Guide to Financial Literacy for Young Adults. This step-by-step guide demystifies complex concepts and breaks them down into simple, bite-sized actions young adults can apply immediately.

Marianne holds a degree in Political Science from Siena University and studied Mass Communications at Boston University.  She has worked extensively in the newspaper and magazine publishing business and the fitness and wellness industry. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with more than 500 hours of training.  This skill enables her to translate complex concepts into clear, understandable language. She currently lives in Eastchester, New York, with her husband, Alex Clemente, and their dog, Gus.

She is presently in production on a companion workbook to Foolproof Guide to Financial Literacy for Young Adults. She is also developing her next title, Foolproof Guide to Real Estate Investing, which will focus on first-time homebuyers, managing rental property, starting young, investing smart, and building long-term wealth through real estate.
